The dawn of transparency

There is no question that blogging and the social media phenomenon is a major disruptive force that is quickly and profoundly changing the way companies communicate with their constituents. What is emerging is a new era of corporate transparency. Companies are learning that there is value (real, bottom line value) in engaging their customers in honest conversation.

As this way of thinking becomes more common place it could potentially move us towards an Enron-free future of improved business ethics and honest corporations.  Knowing that consumers are too informed and sophisticated to be duped can have a huge impact on a company’s behavior and decisions.
